ABOUT SOMA & SER
Hi, I'm Isabella.
I’m really happy you’re here.
I know reaching out for therapy isn't always easy. Whether you're navigating the effects of trauma, feeling disconnected from yourself, or finding that old relationship patterns keep showing up in your life, I hope this page helps you get a better sense of who I am and what working together might feel like. My goal is simple: to create a space where you feel safe enough to show up exactly as you are.
The Kind of Work I Love.
One of the things I hear most often is...
"I understand why I feel this way... I just don't know how to change it."
Helping people move beyond that feeling is one of the things I love most about this work.
Understanding why something happens doesn't make it easier to change. Together, we'll explore patterns and protective parts that once helped you survive while reconnecting with your body, your relationships, and the version of yourself you've longed to become.
I don't believe therapy is about fixing people.
I believe it's about creating enough safety to understand yourself differently—with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.
I Became a Therapist Because...
I genuinely believe everyone deserves to feel safe in their own body and connected in their relationships. Helping people build healthier relationships—with themselves and with the people they love—is one of the greatest privileges of my work.
As a queer-identifying Latina therapist, creating an affirming and culturally responsive space isn't simply part of what I do—it's something I deeply value. Every client brings a unique story into the therapy room, and I believe that story deserves to be met with curiosity, compassion, and respect.
Healing doesn't begin when you become someone different.
It begins when you feel safe enough to become more fully yourself.
OUTSIDE THE THERAPY ROOM
When I'm not working...
Outside the office you'll usually find me exploring different Chicago neighborhoods with my two golden retrievers, Theo and Benny, iced coffee in hand.
I'm also an Olympic lifting hobbyist. It constantly reminds me that meaningful growth rarely happens overnight. It takes patience, consistency, and showing up even when things feel uncomfortable.
Therapy asks us to practice many of those same things.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
Why "Soma & Ser"?
Soma
/ The body.
A reminder that healing isn't only something we think about—it is something we experience.
Ser
/ To be.
An invitation to exist fully as yourself, without ever needing to hide, perform, or pretend.
Together, Soma & Ser reflects the kind of therapy I hope to offer: a space where you can reconnect with your body, deepen your understanding of yourself, and move toward a more grounded, authentic way of being.
